Behind the Lens | Shanta Bender
Hi there! I’m Shanta, and I am the face behind Shanta Bender Photography. If you’re wondering how my first name is pronounced, it’s actually quite simple. It’s pronounced, "SHAN-tay" I am a self-taught wedding and portrait photographer located in Birmingham, Alabama. My interest in photography began after watching my father and aunt take pictures of our family. Yet, it was 2009 when I began to learn and pursue my passion for photography after I received my first DSLR camera, as a present after countless disposables and ‘point and shoot’ cameras. It was then photography became a very important part of my life. However, I am much more than just a photographer hiding behind a lens or a computer screen. I'm a daughter, sister, aunt, friend, and MOMMY of one incredibly loving daughter and she is my absolute priority. I'm a pretty bubbly person and love to laugh!
